Lesson Learned:stupidity Defined

Stupid is wrestling one of your students during his practice when you haven’t wrestled in 10 years. So what if the last time you did you were in the MA state championships.

You didn’t even place that year. And that was the last REAL physical activity you have done.

In 10 years. A decade.

. . . .He’s in his prime, your student. He’s been wrestling all season. He outweighs you by 20 pounds.

You might know moves better and have more stamina, but he’s practiced and fresh.

He hasn’t been coughing up phelgm and blood for a month.

He has a group of people cheering him on, giving him advice.

The only voice you hear is ten years old and you can’t really tell what it’s saying, other than “YOU CAN NOT GET PINNED!”

Ten years ago you worried about conserving energy, and finding his weakness, and using his moves against him. Now you’re old, and should have pinned him when you had him on his back in the first 30 seconds. But no. You reverted back to young MEH, who was conserned about not pulling off the pin, and was trying to save energy.

That saved energy means you didn’t get pinned later, but still lost 10 to 8.

So now, sitting here, with a headache, every muscle in your body in pain, your hands shaking, with a killer headache and sinus infection, you reflect: monday is going to suck, if you can make it into work.
