“are You Still Writing?”
Such a good question. Am I still writing poetry? In a word: meh . ..
Yes. I am still writing, however, I do have a full time job (at least for now), so I do not have the time that ‘real writers’ (whoever they are) have to devote to writing alone.
There are always poems in the works. Revisions to be made. Ideas to being. Solanders mourn. I am constantly observing life through my semi-objective lens, and when I have time I jot those thoughts down, often in a poetic way.
For example: a poem in progress after watching someone at Barnes and Nobles while attempting to grade; obviously unfinished.

: on the bridge of a nose, around the sagging
of shoulders. others declare this dis-ease
with a dimness of eyes which never raise,
bowed prostrate, in praise of pavement.

and start living once her Reality Check

for Stumbling upon Happiness. but,
i think she know it’s pointless: defeating
her own purpose, studying a People
Magazine, leaving the stacked tomes
unblemished and pristine - bindings unbroken.

So yes Virginia, MEH is still writing. Still trying. When he has the time.
