Reassessment
I’ve been reading Billy Collins. This was the result.

if you were to ask
you’d hear it’s because
their child has left
to live on campus, and
or her loss of 35 pounds
after lap-band surgery, and
or his big promotion
which included a young secretary
but now their relationship
will go the way of the dog
who was put to sleep
after all those years
of loyal service.
