The Irony Is Killing Me

“Midway in our life’s journey, I went astray
from the straight road and woke to find myself
alone in a dark wood. How shall I say
what wood that was! I never saw so drear,
so rank, so arduous a wilderness!
Its very memory gives a shape to fear.
Death could scarce be more bitter than that place!
But since it came to good, I will recount
all that I found revealed there by God’s grace.”
Dante’s Inferno, Canto I, lines 1-9
Quick English lesson: “Comedy” doesn’t mean “funny” when talking about Dante. The only “Funny” parts of the D.C. are the ones which really show how horrible a person you are for laughing, and why you too will be in hell. “Comedy” means just what Dante says there in bold: the end result is “good;” there is something praiseworthy about the outcome of the events.
This is my life right now. Coming out on the other side: climbing through hell and exiting in heaven.
I just hope it’s not all a dream.
What’s Up With Me Recently.
It’s funny: some people only keep up with me by way of this site. Not in person, by phone, by email, or Facebook.
Actually it’s the last one that brought this to mind. Mandy emailing me a lesson plan suggestion to do with my freshmen. Status updates as an icebreaker/brainstorm activity. That got me thinking about this site, and how inaccurate it is in tracking me(h) and what I am doing, or feeling from day to day. I post when I feel like it, from time to time.
This is not quite the same on Facebook. Thus, here is an update: MEH’s Facebook Status for the Last Month (in reverse order).

Benediction - Outro
Just listening to this song again, and got to the outro, which I like. A lot.
Dawned on me that I sometimes just want to hear the ending without hearing the whole song, with its various emotional baggage of sending my kids into the world.
Thus I cut it down. And here it is:
Benediction (07) - Outro ~ 0:50
New Old Music
Two new pages on two old collections of instrumentals from a while ago that I had almost completely forgotten about, but found sitting on CDs under my desk. Some of my earlier stuff before I really picked up the guitar or piano again.

Western Wind
Western wind, when will thou blow
The small rain down can rain?
Christ, if my love were in my arms
And I in my bed again!
